Fourth of July

Evan and I were fortunate to get some time alone this fourth of July. We spent time sleeping, at the pool, and actually going to the movies! We met up with his parents later in the evening to get Ryder. He had spent the day with them at a fourth of July parade and loved every minute of it, they said. He was fasinated with the tractors, horses, and dogs. Here are some pictures of us eating BBQ at one of our favorite places, Smokey Mo's. He loved the green beans (or as Ryder says "bean beans") and potato salad.

After saying good bye to Evan's parents, we were on our way to see fireworks. After it taking an hour and half last year to leave, we had decided to avoid the traffic and just find a spot close to the park where they were setting off the fireworks. So, we got all situated and waited.

and waited....

and waited (remember, doesn't get dark enough for fireworks until 9:30 or so here)... finally, fireworks... and Ryder didn't really care. Since we were all drenched in sweat, we left early and got to bed. Happy Fourth!
